Clampdown against electricity extortion continues in Pakistan
Several cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan have mutually added to the recovery of Rs1.083 billion, with 95 individuals apprehended.
Islamabad: In a strenuous endeavor to counter electricity extortion, the government’s new rule has led to potent measures nationwide.
According to details, a total of Rs2.138 billion has been retrieved and 199 persons have been arrested across the country from December 31, 2023 to January 8, 2024.
Several cities like Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan have mutually added to the recovery of Rs1.083 billion, with 95 individuals apprehended.
In addition to, Gujranwala has seen a replevin of Rs0.06 billion. In Peshawar, a sum of Rs0.44 billion has been accumulated, and 67 individuals have been hampered.
