Rawalpindi: In two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan districts, the security forces successfully neutralized four terrorists.
The first operation took place in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, resulting in the elimination of Commander Tabassum, also known as Qadarman, and his associate Sajid, alias Sarkandi, following a fierce exchange of gunfire with security forces.
Simultaneously, another IBO was conducted in Kulachi, a general area in Dera Ismail Khan, where two additional terrorists were successfully neutralized by the security forces.
The ISPR stated that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in various terrorist activities against security forces. These activities included extortion, target killings of innocent civilians, and other violent actions.
The sanitization operations are ongoing to ensure the complete elimination of any other potential terrorists in the area, as part of the military's commitment to maintaining security and peace.
The local residents expressed their appreciation for the operations, showing full support in the collective effort to eradicate the menace of terrorism. The operations come amid an increase in terrorist activities in various parts of the country, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the termination of the ceasefire by the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in November 2022.
