Fawad’s physical remand extends by three more days
The court handed over Fawad Chaudhry to NAB for physical remand for another three days.
Islamabad: The Accountability Court Islamabad Monday approved the physical remand of former minister Fawad Chaudhry for another three days.
According to the details, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the case against Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Fawad Chaudhry regarding construction projects in Jhelum, in connection with which National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented him before the court.
Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyers Amir Abbas, Faisal Chaudhry and NAB prosecutor appeared in the court.
During the hearing, the judge asked Fawad’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry if he wants to say something else too, to which the lawyer replied, “The discussions do not end”.
The defense council that NAB has been trying to harass Fawad Chaudhry. They took 26 days physical remand however still the inquiry is pending. No land was transferred in the name of Fawad, there is no evidence. What they want to be done to Fawad, what have they concluded in 26 days.
Meanwhile, NAB requested Fawad Chaudhry’s physical remand for four days. On this, Judge Muhammad Bashir spoke to Faisal Chaudhry, ‘It’s not your physical remand, right’. To which the lawyer replied that he had received the notice.
Later, the court reserved the decision on the physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry, which after while pronouncing the verdict, they accepted the request of NAB.
The court handed over Fawad Chaudhry to NAB for physical remand for another three days.
