PTI's lawyer Shah Faisal Advocate told the court, ‘After the Supreme Court's decision, our petition has become ineffective, we withdraw our petition’.

Peshawar: After the Supreme Court, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) withdrew the contempt of court case against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from the Peshawar High Court (PHC) also.
According to the details, Justice Atiq Shah and Justice Arshad Ali of PHC heard the contempt of court case related to PTI intra-party elections and electoral symbol.
During the hearing, PTI's lawyer Shah Faisal Advocate told the court, ‘After the Supreme Court's decision, our petition has become ineffective, we withdraw our petition’.
After which the court disposed of the contempt of court case against the Election Commission.
PTI had filed a contempt of court case against the Election Commission for not implementing the court orders.
Earlier on yesterday, the Supreme Court had disposed of PTI's plea regarding not providing a level playing field on the basis of withdrawal.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa asked PTI lawyer Latif Khosa whether he wants to prosecute the case or not.
PTI's lawyer Latif Khosa said: “We are withdrawing the contempt of court petition against the Election Commission. We would prefer to go to the people's court for the survival of democracy”.
Latif Khosa stated that he has been instructed to withdraw the application. ‘Your decision of January 13 deprived us of more than 230 seats. We came to your court for a level playing field, but at 11:30pm on January 13, a verdict was delivered that shattered PTI, what do we expect now that we will get a level playing field’.
The lawyer added that you can give orders, we do not want to fight this case in your court. On which the Chief Justice said: “Accept our decision or not, it is your choice,” to which Khosa said the Election Commission can only withdraw the electoral symbol, a party is being banned from the parliament, all the candidates of PTI will fight free elections and will suffer from confusion.
PTI lawyer said that some of the PTI candidates was allotted bowl or someone was allotted a glass as electoral symbols. You have the authority under Article 187 of the Constitution, you can give orders. We do not want to fight this case in your court.
