CEC emphasizes security for all political leaders
It is important to mention here that CEC endorsed on peaceful polls due to the security threats of the 19 political leaders which was mentioned by the IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
Islamabad: In a meeting the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja emphasized to make sure the security of leaders and voters of all political parties for the upcoming general elections 2024.
Sikandar Sultan endorsed to maintain the law and order and security situation and has also instructed the officials to strictly follow the election code of conduct by saying that it was the liability of the law enforcement agencies to make sure the security arrangements for peaceful, safe and successful conduct of elections.
The CEC stated that safety and security is an important matter so that the political parties, candidates and voters were provided with a facilitative environment in which they could give their vote without fear whereas the printing of ballot papers was going on.
Sikandar Sultan said if any candidate or any other person violates the law and code of conduct, strict action would be taken against them. There will be strict supervision of polls and will be held according to the schedule.
CEC showed satisfaction with all measures and arrangements made for the conduct of elections. He said under Article (3)218 of the Constitution, it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct peaceful and transparent elections and it would fulfil its responsibility in that regard actively.
It is important to mention here that CEC endorsed on peaceful polls due to the security threats of the 19 political leaders which was mentioned by the IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
