The new tariff has come into an effect from November 2023.


Karachi: Despite the severe shortage of Sui gas, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has issued a notification regarding the estimation and payment of monthly rates for domestic consumers on the instructions of Ogra.
The new tariff has come into an effect from November 2023 and because of the new policy domestic consumers are divided into two categories.
Amid to this categorical division, those domestic consumers who have consumed an average of 91cm or more of gas during 4 months from November to February will be called non-protected and less than 90 will be called protected.
In addition, the protected category will have to pay a fixed charge of Rs400 on each bill, a protected customer's bill will receive a minimum of Rs650 and a maximum of Rs1350.
While the minimum bill for a non-protected consumer will be Rs1,440 to Rs87,000 or more, bills for both categories will include Rs400 meter rent and 18 percent general sales tax, whether the consumer consumes gas or not.
A non-protected consumer will have to pay a minimum fixed charge of Rs1,000 or a maximum of Rs 2,000 on 150CM, the average bill will increase as gas consumption increases in both categories.
