Power consumers to be electrocuted once again
The increase in electricity prices demanded by the CPPA is part of the December Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA).
Islamabad: The government has prepared once again to burden the electricity consumers as the price of electricity per unit is likely to increase by Rs5.62.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) applied to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for fuel price adjustment which will be heard tomorrow (Wednesday) by the authorities.
The increase in electricity prices demanded by the CPPA is part of the December Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA), which, if approved, will cost consumers up to Rs50 billion.
This will be the biggest increase so far in winter compared to previous years.
It has been stated in the application that 7.480 billion units of electricity were generated in December 2023.
