Mumbai: Indian actress and model Poonam Pandey denied the news of her death calling it just a campaign.
According to the Indian media, actress Poonam Pandey was suffering from cervical cancer and the death of the actress was confirmed yesterday by her team on her verified Instagram account.
However, now Poonam Pandey posted a video on her social account Instagram saying: “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all - I am here, alive”.
She stated that Cervical Cancer did not claim her, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.
Unlike some other cancers, Cervical Cancer is entirely preventable. The key lies in the HPV vaccine and early detection tests, added Poonam.
The actress further said that we have the means to ensure no one loses their life to this disease.
“Let’s empower one another with critical awareness and ensure every woman is informed about the steps to take,” continued Pandey.
