Former captain Salman Butt stated that hockey is the national sport of Pakistan, it should be promoted. Hockey is not being played anywhere in schools, colleges. If something good would be happening in hockey, it won’t be happening.
The former captain said: “I call Mohsin Naqvi the best of luck, he is a good administrator, but cricket requires a specialist, only a heart specialist can treat the heart, similarly sports also require a specialist”.
Salman Butt added that there is a need for a road map in sports, people should come on merit, the captaincy should be done by the one who deserves it.
‘After every World Cup, the captain changes in Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi should get some time. When someone becomes a captain, they should get a fair chance,’ continued the cricketer.
Responding to a question, he said that voting in the election is his personal choice.
Butt further stated that everyone knows why there are conspiracies in the cricket board. The batting coach of our team in the World Cup was the one who has never played cricket in Asian conditions. Our team is not playing much cricket.
