Karachi: At least two persons were killed and six other sustained injuries following an explosion due to gas leakage in under-construction building in Karachi.

According to details, the incident occurred in the building located in the Liaquatabad area of metropolitan city. The roof of the building collapsed burying eight people under the rubble.
After getting information, rescue teams reached the spot and retrieved eight persons from under the debris in critical condition.
The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospital but two including one child succumbed to the injuries.
Among the injured include four children one man and one woman. Two out of four children are said to be in critical condition.
Police and bomb disposal squad also reached the spot and declared the area clear.
As per DC Central, the incident occurred due to gas leakage; however, further investigation in underway.
