Islamabad: The decision of the Returning Officers (RO) of two National Assembly constituencies NA-47 and NA-48 from Islamabad has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to the details, independent candidates Ali Bukhari and Shoaib Shaheen have filed applications in the High Court against the decision of RO in NA-47 and NA-48 constituencies. The petitions have been requested to be fixed for hearing today (Saturday).
Ali Bukhari, an independent candidate supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) from NA-48, said that all Forms-45 are there, he was defeated by rigging as before he was winning with a lead of 53,000 votes.
It is pertinent to note that the inconclusive and unofficial results of the three National Assembly constituencies of the federal capital Islamabad have come, according to which Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has won in two constituencies and the independent candidate Raja Khurram Shehzad has won in only one.
Anjum Aqeel Khan from NA-46 Islamabad was declared successful by getting 81,958 votes while his rival independent candidate Aamir Masood Mughal got 44,317 votes.
From NA-47, PML-N candidate Tariq Fazal Chaudhry defeated PTI-backed independent candidates Shoaib Shaheen and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and was declared the winner by securing 120,000 votes.
Raja Khurram Shehzad Nawaz, an independent candidate from NA-48, defeated PTI's independent candidates Syed Muhammad Ali Bukhari and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and was declared the winner with 69,699 votes.
