Islamabad: The Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the Prime Minister is unsustainably borrowing money from international leasing agencies.

He maintained that “This unprecedented borrowing is akin to mortgaging the country’s economic integrity and freedom,”
The PM has thrown the country to the wolves, and succeeding governments will bear the burden of lifting Pakistan out of the crisis.
He demanded that the Prime Minister must resign and go home before Pakistan reaches a point of no return.
In a statement, the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, emphasized the incompetency of Imran Khan, pointing out that from his first day in office, the Prime Ministers entire economic policy has been begging from alms and loans from the world. The Prime Minister has travelled to Washington DC, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and China with a beggars’ bowl in hand, offering up Pakistan’s interests bit by bit.
Pakistan’s economic policies are now being dictated by International donor agencies, while the incumbent government and Prime Minister merely rubber-stamping anything on their table. Pakistan has been reduced to being left at the mercy of its creditors.
In 2021 alone, the selected PM has borrowed $10 billion with a sharp increase of 35 per cent, the Chairman PPP said. This incompetent and selected PM has overseen Pakistans external debt increasing to $116 billion from $95 billion with an increase of $21 billion.
“Pakistan will never be able to repay these debts, even if all national assets are mortgaged to our creditors. This puts Pakistan in a precarious position, from which the country might not recover.”
Bilawal lambasted the sitting PM on his sheer inability to run the country and said he had enslaved the whole nation to the international lenders. The selected PM Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi has pushed the country into a ‘heavily compromised state’.
We may not realise it now, but the next generations will suffer under the burden of this vast accumulated debt, he said. To add insult to injury, the federal cabinet – which happens to be the epitome of corruption – is squandering this borrowed money. The cabinet and the PM’s crony capitalist mafias are embezzling money from the public exchequer, he added.
“The selected PM has jeopardised the integrity of Pakistan. The very future of the country is at stake. We should wonder what kind of country our children will inherit, and what leaving them in crushing debt will achieve.”
PPP Chairman warned the selected PM to pay heed to the plight of the underprivileged. He must see what he has done to the common salaried class and the daily wagers who can no longer feed their families because of skyrocketing inflation. What little they earn, can no longer sustain them. While Imran Khan gallivants across the country and the world, the people he is meant to serve are left to rot in hell.
