Landslides: Karakoram highway blocked again

Pakistan Army is conducting aerial surveillance in the affected areas through 300 drones.

Landslides: Karakoram highway blocked again

Upper Kohistan: A landslide at Bhasha in the Upper Kohistan region led to the closure of the Karakoram Highway again, causing queues of vehicles and leaving a large number of passengers stranded.

Earlier, the road was blocked at nine places on the Karakoram Highway due to heavy rain and snowfall, as a result of which around 95 vehicles carrying 1055 passengers were stuck on the highway.

After heavy rain and snowfall, while carrying out a rescue operation on the Karakoram Highway, the soldiers of the Pakistan Army rescued all the stranded vehicles and passengers safely.

During the rescue operation, Pakistan Army also provided food to more than 80 stranded passengers near the dam site area and Bashidas camp, after which all the vehicles and passengers were rescued safely.
