Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to allocate the quota of reserved seats in the assemblies to the political parties today (Thursday) , while the reserved seats of Sunni Ittehad Council will also be decided today.
According to the details, political parties will be allotted the quota of reserved seats of the four assemblies. The final party position after the inclusion of independent members is also likely to be released today.
It is reported that if the Sunni Ittehad Council does not get the quota, other parties will get one seat for every three members. And if Sunni Unity Council gets the quota, they will get one seat for every four to five members.
Notably, after the agreement between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Sunni Ittehad Council, the successful independent candidates supported by PTI from across the country are joining the Sunni Ittehad Council.
More than 280 successful independent candidates supported by PTI across Pakistan have announced to join the Sunni Ittehad Council. 86 PTI-backed independent members of the National Assembly have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council. The candidates have submitted the joining certificate and affidavit to the Election Commission.
Several members of the three provincial assemblies also submitted their joining certificates and affidavits. 105 independent candidates of Punjab Assembly and 85 independent candidates of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly have also submitted their affidavits of joining.
