IHC allows Imran Khan to meet lawyers alone
The High Court ordered the jail administration to hold the meeting in privacy, saying that no official will be present during the meeting of the lawyers.
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday allowed the former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan to meet the lawyers alone.
According to the details, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of IHC heard the petitions filed by the lawyers for a private meeting with former Chairman PTI Imran Khan.
The High Court ordered the jail administration to hold the meeting in privacy, saying that no official will be present during the meeting of the lawyers.
The court also allowed the lawyers to carry paper and pencil during the meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat said that documents and other things of lawyers are scanned.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq ordered that he will issue a written order in this regard, all the requests related to the meeting in the jail are being dealt with, therefore do not file the petition anymore.
The court accepted the appeal to meet the political assistants in the application.
Sher Afzal Marwat took a position that the prison administration does not allow the lawyers to talk to alone. Two prison officers are forcibly present during the meeting with the lawyers. The meeting with new party members and newly elected members is also not allowed.
In the petition, the court was requested to issue orders to the Superintendent Adiala Jail to let them meet with the founder PTI alone, the court should issue orders to meet the political aides of Imran Khan.
The court accepted the plea to meet Imran Khan's political aides and issued orders to the jail administration to deal with the plea.
