The names of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker candidates for both the assemblies have not been announced yet.


Peshawar/Quetta: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies sessions will be held today (Wednesday) in which newly elected members will take oath.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani and in Balochistan instead of Speaker Jaan Muhammad Jamali, the newly elected member Zamrik Khan Achakzai will take oath as the presiding officer.
The names of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker candidates for both the assemblies have not been announced yet.
In the first session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly today, the newly elected members of the assembly will take oath. 21 seats for women and four seats for minorities will remain vacant in the absence of a decision regarding the allocation of special seats to the Sunni Unity Council (SIC).
All the preparations regarding the assembly session have been completed while the renovation work of the assembly has also been completed.
In the first session of the KP Assembly, two women each from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and one woman from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will take oath in 26 seats reserved for women, while 21 reserved seats will remain vacant and members will also not be able to take oath on four seats of minorities.
After taking the oath, nomination papers will be submitted for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, while the election process for these posts will be held on the second day, while the newly elected members of the Assembly will elect the Leader of the House on Friday.
The first session of the 12th assembly of Balochistan is also being held today for which the arrangements in the assembly have been completed.
The splendor of the Balochistan Assembly building located on Zarghoon Road in Quetta has started to recover. The first session of the twelfth assembly of Balochistan will be held at 3:00pm in which 62 out of 65 successful members of the assembly of the province will take oath.
Three members of the assembly will not be able to attend the meeting due to non-issue of notification.
According to the Assembly Secretariat, Speaker Jaan Muhammad Jamali will not be able to participate in the meeting due to illness, therefore Governor Balochistan has nominated the newly elected member of Provincial Assembly Zamrik Khan Achakzai as presiding who will take the oath from the members.
Before the meeting of the Balochistan Assembly, the renovation work has been completed there, while adequate security arrangements have been made to deal with any untoward incident during the assembly session.
Under the security plan, the private guards of any member of the assembly will not be allowed to enter the assembly premises while special passes have been issued for the media.
Passes have not been issued to any guest during the meeting due to security reasons.
