Islamabad: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan called the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and congratulated him on being elected for the second term.

On this occasion, the newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of brotherly relations between the two countries.
It is pertinent to note that in the meeting of the National Assembly yesterday, the newly elected members elected Shehbaz Sharif as the Leader of the House and the new Prime Minister of the country.
The newly elected Prime Minister secured 201 votes while his opponent, Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) candidate Umar Ayub secured 92 votes.
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi congratulated Shehbaz Sharif for being elected as the Prime Minister.
