Shehbaz Sharif takes oath as PM of Pakistan
President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath taking of Shehbaz Sharif.
Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif Monday took as Prime Minister of Pakistan today.
According to the details, President Dr. Arif Alvi will administer the oath taking of Shehbaz Sharif.
The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran in the President's House. Foreign diplomats, senior government officials and leaders of political parties are participating in the ceremony.
Apart from this, Asif Ali Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister of three provinces Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan including Maryam Nawaz, Murad Ali Shah and Sarfaraz Bugti are also participating while the ambassadors of different countries are also participating in the oath taking ceremony.
While, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had refused to attend the ceremony.
After the swearing in of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he was presented a guard of honor by the armed forces at the Prime Minister House.
Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was introduced to the staff of the Prime Minister's Office, during which he shook hands with the staff.
Apart from this, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, who resigned from the post of Caretaker Prime Minister, will also meet Shehbaz Sharif.
In the voting held in the National Assembly yesterday, Shehbaz Sharif was elected as the Prime Minister by getting 201 votes while his rival candidate Umar Ayub Khan got 92 votes.
