Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman has administered oath to 18 members in a ceremony at governor house in Lahore.


Lahore: The Punjab cabinet members took oath at Governor House in Lahore on Wednesday. The oath ceremony started after recitation from Holy Quran.
Governor Punjab Baligh-ur-Rehman administered oath to the new members of the provincial cabinet. Punjab chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also present there.
The PML-N leaders, supporters and the close relatives of the members also graced the occasion.
After the oath, the governor congratulated the new members. Marriyum Aurangzeb took oath as a senior minister while Azma Bukhari also took oath as a provincial minister.
Initially, 18-member cabinet took oath, and the sourcse privy to the development said that the strength of the cabinet could swell during the coming days. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz who addressed a press conference earlier in the day made it clear that she would not compromise on service delivery to the masses. She said she would take strict action against the hoarders and profiteers.
The sources revealed that a special department would be established to control prices of the food items and other things in the local markets in a bid to ensure relief to the public.
