Party leader Mamata Banerjee announced the names of candidates for all 42 seats in West Bengal, including the name of Yusuf Pathan.


Mumbai: Former all-rounder of Indian cricket team Yusuf Pathan also decided to enter the field of politics.
According to Indian media reports, former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate from Berhampur.
Party leader Mamata Banerjee announced the names of candidates for all 42 seats in West Bengal, including the name of Yusuf Pathan.
Yusuf Pathan's brother Irfan Pathan in a message on social media platform X congratulated his brother and wished him well in his political journey.
It is pertinent to note that the Lok Sabha elections in India will be held in different phases in April and May, which is expected to be formally announced this week.
Notably, Yusuf Pathan represented India in 57 One Day International (ODI) matches and scored 810 runs at an average of 27 while he also played 22 T20 International matches in which he scored 236 runs.
