The Interior Minister expresses his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation as the federal minister for interior and narcotics control.


Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday opted not to accept his salary after being appointed to the federal cabinet, saying that serving the nation is a great honor amidst challenging economic times.
The development took place two days after 19 individuals sworn in as members of the federal cabinet.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation as the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi announced his decision to forgo his salary during his tenure in office.
In a similar vein, President Asif Zardari has also decided to abstain from receiving his salary, citing the need to address the pressing economic challenges facing the country.
