Agreement reached to build 18 smart cities in Punjab
It was informed that Air Quality Index Monitoring Environment Sensors will also be installed in 18 cities.
Lahore: An agreement has been reached between Punjab Safe Cities Authority and National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) to build smart cities in 18 cities across the province.
Smart safe city projects will be implemented in 18 cities of Punjab with the support of NRTC.
An agreement between Managing Director (MD) Ahsan Yunus of Safe City Authority and NRTC representative Syed Amir Javed signed was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the Smart Safe City Authority project.
In the briefing on this occasion, it was informed that Air Quality Index Monitoring Environment Sensors will also be installed in 18 cities. Safe City Project in Gujarat, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Taxila will be operational by the end of May.
It was further informed in the briefing that smart safe cities in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Jhang, Attock, Hasan Abdal, DG Khan, Sialkot, Murree, and Mianwali will be completed this year.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Home Secretary, Inspector General (IG) Police, Finance Secretary and other officials were also present.
