The number of members who took the oath of membership of the National Assembly has reached 316.


Islamabad: In the session of the National Assembly chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, five women who became Members of National Assembly (MNA) on reserved seats took oath.
Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq administered oath to Shaheen Habibullah, Ghazala Anjum, Asma Alamgir, Naima Kanwal and Naima Kishore.
The number of members who took the oath of membership of the National Assembly has reached 316.
Later, during the uproar of the opposition, the resolution to extend the ordinances was passed.
Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar presented the resolution to extend the period of seven ordinances in the House.
Meanwhile, the members of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) protested in the House by standing on their seats, but the Speaker started the counting despite the noise of opposition, after which it was found that 130 votes were in support of the resolution and 63 were against it.
In the National Assembly session, SIC leader Umar Ayub expressed that these ordinances are for sale to Pakistan, rejecting the resolution to extend the ordinance.
On the other hand, Azam Nazir Tarar said that take pictures of those who are betraying Pakistan and writing letters to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the opposition should read the ordinance before speaking.
Law Minister Tarar stated that they should tell which party they belong to. Yesterday the Peshawar High Court (PHC) sent them home saying that they have no rights. They should stand up for the country and not behind the prisoner all the time.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Khurshid Shah in the National Assembly session stated that he agrees with the opposition that the government does not run by ordinances. It should also be considered that during the last three periods, the most ordinances came during whose tenure.
In addition, the Israeli brutality in Gaza was condemned in the National Assembly and the resolution was unanimously approved.
According to the text of the resolution, the House condemns Israeli aggression in Palestine.
The resolution calls on the government to urge the international community for a ceasefire in Gaza.
