Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday approved a one-year extension for Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu.
The prime minister forwarded the recommendation for the extension to President Asif Ali Zardari, who later approved it.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, a four-star officer, currently serves as the 16th Chief of Air Staff. He assumed command of the air force on March 19, 2021, succeeding ACM Mujahid Anwar Khan.
Earlier, Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu held discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on various national matters.
