The nomination papers of Hammad Azhar from NA-119 and PP-164 were rejected.


Islamabad: The verification process of the nomination papers in one of the National Assembly and four provincial assembly constituencies from Lahore has been completed.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) released the list after checking the nomination papers, according to which the nomination papers of Hammad Azhar from NA-119 and PP-164 were rejected.
The nomination papers of 12 candidates including Ali Pervez, Shehzad Farooq from NA-119 were approved, while the nomination papers of Moonis Elahi from PP-158 were rejected.
Nomination papers of 27 candidates including Akhtar Hussain, Yusuf Ali from PP-158 and 20 candidates including Shoaib Siddiqui, Ahsan Akram from PP-149 were accepted.
The nomination papers of 19 candidates including Muhammad Khan Madni, Majid Zahoor from PP-147 and 27 candidates including Akhtar Hussain, Mirza Javed from PP-164 were approved.
On the other hand, the Appellate Tribunal dismissed the appeal against the rejection of nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Habib-ur-Rehman, while the court also upheld the decision of the Returning Officer.
Khawaja Habib-ur-Rehman had filed an appeal against the rejection of nomination papers by the Senate.
