New Delhi: A reception related to Pakistan Day was organized by the Pakistan High Commission in the Indian capital, New Delhi.
Political leaders, diplomats, business community and civil society representatives including prominent Muslim personalities of Delhi also participated in the reception of Pakistan High Commission.
On this occasion, Regulator of affairs Saad Ahmed Warraich welcomed the distinguished guests at Chancery Lawn and highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day.
Saad Ahmed said in his address that the historic resolution in Lahore on March 23, 1940 became the foundation of Tehreek-e-Pakistan. “Pakistan has made important progress towards strengthening democracy, Pakistan has also made progress towards promoting independent media and active civil society”.
He stated that the founders of Pakistan and India envisioned a cordial relationship between the two countries. Unfortunately, the history of our bilateral relations has been full of challenges.
The era of perpetual conflicts and tensions is not our destiny. Peace and harmony can create a future of hope for the people through mutual respect and the goal of peace and stability in the region can be achieved by promoting mutual understanding, while peace and stability can be established in the region by resolving long-standing conflicts including Jammu and Kashmir, added Regulator of affairs.
Apart from this, the guests were treated to traditional Pakistani food and documentaries of Pakistan's beautiful places and national heritage were also showcased.
