Diamar Bhasha Dam General Manager confirmed that the Chinese company has resumed work on the dam including about 350 Chinese nationals.

Peshawar: After Tarbela, the Chinese company has resumed work on Diamer Bhasha Dam, but the work on Dasu Dam is still suspended.
According to the media reports quoting sources, the work on Dasu Dam will be resumed in a few days.
Diamar Bhasha Dam General Manager Nazakat Hussain confirmed that the Chinese company has resumed work on the dam including about 350 Chinese nationals while 6,000 local staff are already doing the job.
It is pertinent to note that the Chinese company had stopped work after five Chinese nationals were killed in a suicide attack on a bus of Dasu Dam engineers.
Diamer Bhasha Dam is being constructed across the Indus River between Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Diamer District of Gilgit Baltistan.
On 13 May 2020, the Pakistani government signed a Rs442 billion contract with a joint venture of China Power and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for the construction of the dam.
