'No vaccination, no salary' for govt employees in Sindh
Karachi: In an attempt to encourage Covid-19 vaccination, the Sindh government has ordered that government employees will not receive their salaries from July if they are not vaccinated.
According to details, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah while chairing a meeting of Corona Task Force has ordered all government employees of different departments to get vaccinated against the Covid-19.
In this connection, Murad Ali Shah has instructed Finance Department to withhold salaries if the employees fail to get themselves vaccinated.
“The salary of a government employee who does not get vaccinated should be withheld from July,” said CM Sindh in the meeting.
Earlier, Sindh government decided to establish coronavirus vaccination centers at the province’s educational institutions.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,028 cases of coronavirus were reported while 80 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,022.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 926,695.
As many as 852,574 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,630 critical cases.
In Sindh, the number of infections has surged to 320,488 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,073.
