Officials said that the boat involved in the accident was a fishing boat, but it was being improperly converted into a passenger boat.

Maputo: 90 people have died and 25 people are missing after a boat capsized in the South East African country of Mozambique.
According to the local authorities, five people who drowned in the boat incident have been rescued alive. It is reported that there were more than 130 people on the boat, including children and women.
According to the authorities, the boat had an accident while leaving from Lunga coastal area of Nampula province and heading towards Mozambique Island. The boat was overcrowded.
Officials said that the boat involved in the accident was a fishing boat, but it was being improperly converted into a passenger boat.
It was also stated by the officials that the Nampula province of Mozambique has also been severely affected by the cholera epidemic that has spread in South African countries since January last year. People were trying to reach the island from the mainland to avoid the cholera epidemic.
It is pertinent to note that the name of the southeastern African country Mozambique is taken from the historical Mozambique Island, which is considered one of the poorest countries in South Africa, while Mozambique Island is also included in the list of World Heritage Sites of the United Nations.
