The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Thursday has decided to take all possible steps to ensure the implementation of COVID SOPs along with pursuing the mass vaccination campaign.

The decision was taken at the NCOC meeting held in Islamabad with Planning Minister Asad Umar in the chair.

The forum expressed concern over the non-compliance of SOPs.

All the federating units have also been engaged to check the growing trend of non-implementation of SOPs to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Pakistan has reported 2,028 new COVID-19 cases, taking the number of infections to 926,695, while 92 more people have succumbed to the deadly coronavirus.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than the previous two waves.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,028 cases of coronavirus were reported while 80 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,022.

The total number of confirmed cases reached 926,695.

As many as 852,574 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,630 critical cases.

Punjab                           

The number of patients swelled to 340,989 in the province with 10,132 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 320,488 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,073.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 133,450 in the province with 4,113 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 25,370 confirmed cases while 285 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 19,344 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 549. On the other hand, there are 5,608 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 81,446 cases in the capital city while 763 people have lost their lives.
