The Punjab Assembly Friday passed several bills including the Sugar Factories Control Amendment Bill and Companies Profit Amendment Bill amid opposition uproar.

At the beginning of the Punjab Assembly session, PML-N member Khalil Tahir Sindhu spoke on the point of order.
PML-N member Malik Ahmad Khan said at the point of order that the government is legislating by violating the rules, “we walkout in protest.”
The opposition in the Punjab Assembly protested against the cut of Rs155 billion in the budget and tore up copies of the agenda and chanted slogans of flour, sugar thief in the House.
Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat said that all the bills were being passed under the Assembly Rules and if no one came to the standing committee, he could not wait for it.
When Raja Basharat introduced the bill in the House, the opposition members started rampaging and making noise.
Opposition members tore up copies of the agenda and chanted anti-government slogans in front of Speaker Dice.
Despite opposition walkouts and protests, Punjab Assembly passed The Companies Profit Amendment Bill 2020, The Punjab Overseas Pakistani Commission Bill 2020, The Punjab Apprenticeship Bill 2021, The Sugar Factories Control Amendment Bill 2021, The Punjab Educational Institutions Bill 2021 and University of Child Health Sciences Lahore Bill 2021.
Upon completion of the agenda, the panel of chairman adjourned the meeting for an indefinite time.
