Karachi: During the hearing of the case in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa Monday remarked that we also know what is happening illegally in Karachi.

In the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, under the chairmanship of CJP Qazi Faez Isa, a hearing was held against the commercialization of Chaudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road.

The court asked the builder's lawyer that who is responsible for the commercialization fee of the plot? The builder's lawyer replied that the commercialization fee of the plot has been paid to the master plan department.

The court asked who has given the money, where are the receipts? The lawyer of the builder said that money has been given to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and others, time should be given to submit the receipts. On this Chief Justice Qazi Faez remarked that the builder has constructed a 22-storey building but there are no receipts.

The Chief Justice said that we also know what is happening illegally in Karachi.

On this occasion, the petitioner's lawyer said that Chaudhry Khaliq-uz-Zaman Road cannot be commercialized. The court directed the petitioner to submit the record of payment for commercialization of the building.

The court issued a notice to the Master Plan Department, KMC and Clifton Cantonment Board and sought the records of the commercialization of Chaudhry Khaliq-ul-Zaman Road at the next hearing, while the court ordered the parties to submit the complete records on April 25.

Mayor Karachi in court

On the other hand, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab appeared in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry on the court order in the case of dispute over the ownership of the government plot in Clifton.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Qazi Faez addressed Mayor Karachi, “Do you know why you have been called”? To this, Murtaza Wahab replied, I came to know through the media that I have been called, I ask Farogh Naseem what is the matter.

Justice Jamal Mandukhel remarked on this that these are the lawyers of your opposite side and will not think of you.

Mayor Karachi told the court that this case was filed by the City District Government and now it is with the land relevant department Karachi Development Authority (KDA). The Chief Justice said that our whole day has been ruined and your time has also been wasted. Now they are telling that this is not the case of KMC.

The Chief Justice addressed the Director General (DG) KDA and said why is your lawyer not present? Why do you not proceed the case? On this, DG KDA sought time to submit a comprehensive report.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till April 26.
