Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz welcomed Iran's President Ibrahim Raisi on arrival at Lahore Airport.


Lahore: Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi Tuesday reached Lahore from Islamabad during his visit to Pakistan.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz welcomed Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on arrival at Lahore Airport, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari also accompanied her.
Apart from this, provincial ministers Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, Bilal Yasin, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, Chief Secretary and IG Punjab were also present on this occasion.
On the occasion of the Iranian President's visit to Lahore, the main roads of the city have been decorated with welcome banners.
Visit to Iqbal mausoleum
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi arrived at Mazar-e-Iqbal from the airport where he was received by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the armed force of Punjab Rangers presented a guard of honor to the distinguished guest at Mazar-e-Iqbal.
The honored guest visited the tomb of Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East, laid wreaths and recited Fatiha.
Speaking to the media at Mazar-e-Iqbal, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said that Allama Iqbal showed a new path to the Muslim Ummah, just as you are proud of your nation, we are proud of our nation, we are very proud of our Mujahideen.
He stated that our supreme leader also says that Gaza and Palestine will be among the winners in this war, Zionists and Israelis will be destroyed in this war. We appreciate Pakistan's role on the principled stand on Gaza.
The foreign president added that he did not feel alienated at all after coming to Pakistan. He wished that he would have addressed public gatherings in Pakistan.
During the visit to Lahore, lunch will be organized by the Chief Minister in the honor of the Iranian President at the Governor's House.
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will leave for Karachi after meeting Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman, and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah will welcome the Iranian President in Karachi. President of Iran will visit Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and meet with the business community.
Today is a local holiday in both the provincial capitals on the occasion of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi's visit to Lahore and Karachi.
According to the notification from the administration, in view of the arrival of foreign dignitaries, public and private schools, colleges and universities will remain closed today. Public and private offices will also observe a holiday today.
