Lahore: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Monday visiting Passport Office located in Garden Town, area of Lahore.
According to the details, passport office is one of those departments of Pakistan where corruption takes place at a large scale and int this regard the interior minister had been informed that without bribe the agents do not let the passport be processed. It was also informed to the authorized minister that there are delays of four months to get the passport.
After which he raided at the office and witnessed that the token machines were not operational and at every step everyone was taking bribe for the process.
Mohsin Naqvi immediately suspended the director passport office Lahore region and assistant director passport office Garden Town.
People present in the office complained to the federal minister that from security guard to everybody takes the bribe. The time for regular passport is of 15 days but they have been facing delay of four to five months which is making them face a lot of difficulty.
