Afghan govt responsible for spike in terrorism incidents, May 9 perpetrators to face punitive action: DG ISPR
Pakistan Army determined to punish the May 9 preparators tight
Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Ahmed Sharif is holding a press conference.
While addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said: “Pakistan has played the most important role against terrorism in the region. Pakistan will leave no stone unturned to eliminate the terrorist network. They are ready to root out evils like terrorism”.
He stated that TTP is operating by using Afghan soil, the fabric of recent terrorism is found in Afghanistan. Pakistan has helped the interim government of Afghanistan at all levels, but they have not implemented the promises yet. There is concrete evidence that TTP terrorists are using Afghan soil.
Major General Ahmed Sharif added: “The first priority of the Pakistan Army is the establishment of peace and order in the country, we will go to any extent to suppress the terrorists and their facilitators. Pakistan is fighting against terrorism and has fought a long battle to eradicate terrorism.
More than 563,000 Afghan citizens have returned but millions of Afghan citizens are still present in Pakistan. Terrorists are ruining the peace and order situation. Pakistan forces are a wall in front of the terrorists, he continued.
The spokesman of the Pakistan Army further said that soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack on a check post in North Waziristan. The failed terrorist actions are proof that the security forces are thwarting the intentions of the enemy.
DG ISPR further stated: “A sad incident took place on March 26 and it has a link to Afghan citizen. The Dasu Dam attack was planned from Afghanistan, the suicide bomber of the Dasu Dam attack was an Afghan. The terrorists involved in the recent attacks are Afghan citizens, and measures are being taken to bring the terrorists to justice, the Army Chief has said that there is no place for terrorists in Pakistan”.
DG ISPR on May 9 tragedy
Responding to the question related to the tragedy of May 9, Major General Ahmed Sharif said that May 9 is not only the case of the Pakistan Army, it is the case of the entire people of Pakistan. In any country, if its army is be attacked, the signs of martyrs are mocked, the founder's house is burnt, the people and the army be hated, and those who are doing this should be blamed. If this happens in any country, the judicial system is questioned.
He further said that Pakistan should believe in the system of punishment, those who did it on May 9 will have to be punished according to the constitution. We all saw this incident with our own eyes, we all saw how People's minds were manipulated in a way, people's minds were made against the forces, their leaders, agencies and institutions.
‘We saw how some political leaders selectively said attack here, we saw attacks were carried out only on military installations. When the evidences came out, we saw the anger and reaction of the people. We saw how the people retreated from the anarchic group, when it came to light, propaganda was started that this is a false flag operation,’ he said.
Spokesman of Pakistan Army stated that it is said that a judicial commission should be formed. Judicial commission is formed for something there is some confusion. These incidents are on record and are very clear. It is also clear how the brainstorming was done and how the goals were formulated. It was also asked to form a judicial commission to find out whether the attack took place or not.
He continued to say: “We are ready for the commission, but the commission should go to the bottom, the commission should cover what were the objectives of the 2014 sit-in. The parliament should also cover the attack on PTV, how the people were given this courage to stand against the state and do civil disobedience, burn electricity bills. The judicial commission should also cover this. They should also see how the IMF letters were written, lobbying was done that Pakistan should be allowed to go bankrupt and not given the money. The commission should cover where the funding was coming from and where it was going. Who were responsible spreading hatred against institutions on social media, if we did not cover these things, therefore, May 9 was due.
DG ISPR said that a certain group will continue to do all these things, then one day they will attack their army, it happened in front of you. When they tell lies and keep telling lies, and you do not say truth in front of their lies, then they will do all sorts of propaganda. The real fact of May 9 is that the political group reached here with the object and attacked its army and institution. The conscious people of Pakistan stood up on May 9, and distanced from this anarchic group and retreated. They denied and condemned it. When he saw the public reaction, another lie was told about the false flag operation that they themselves are oppressed. This is not allowed to thing of people are stupid. If the perpetrators and planners of May 9 are not punished according to the law, then no one's life, property and honor will be safe. In order to believe in punishment, it is necessary to punish the accused of May 9 according to the law and the constitution and as soon as possible.
Major General Ahmed Sharif further said that Pakistan's army is a national army, it has people of all schools of thought, it has people of all races and colors, it has no political thought, we are in a parliamentary democratic system.
Every government has a non-political but constitutional relationship with the army. For us, all political ideas, political parties and leaders are respectable. If any political idea, leader or group attacks their army, the people, and if they create hatred and rift among the army, ridicule the nation's martyrs, or spread propaganda against the army, no one will talk to them. There is a way for such a political anarchist group to sincerely apologize to the nation. They should promise to engage in constructive politics instead of hatred, when the dialogue is to unite the political party, it is not appropriate to have an army or institution in it, he continued.
