Lahore: The case of clash between police and lawyers outside Lahore High Court (LHC) has been registered in GPO Chowk area of Lahore.
According to the details, a case has been registered in the old Anarkali police station on the complaint of Inspector Javed, which includes the provisions of road block, torture, and interference in the affairs of the government.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), a large number of lawyers attacked the police as a result of which five officers including Station House Officers (SHOs) of New Anarkali and Ichhra were injured.
It is pertinent to note that on May 8, around 1:00pm, the Lahore Bar Association held a rally outside the LHC against the transfer of courts and terrorism cases against lawyers.
In order to approve the demands, the lawyers tried to enter the LHC building, on which a clash started between the protesters and the police.
On which the police baton-charged and shelled tear gas on the rally and arrested around 30 lawyers, while the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has announced a nationwide strike today.
