Pakistan has played five matches in the event, winning three of them


Ipoh: Japan drew first blood against Pakistan as they opened the scoring after the latter’s weak defence let in the Japanese forward from the left wing in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2024 final on Saturday.
The finalists had already been decided before the last round of matches was played and Japan’s 3-1 win over Canada saw them finish two points above Pakistan in the table.
The final of the Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament is being played in Ipoh, Malaysia. The final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament will be played between Pakistan and Japan today (Saturday) at 5:30pm. Pakistan and Japan will compete in the 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament in Ipoh, Malaysia.
Pakistan has played five matches in the event, winning three of them. Pakistan defeated Malaysia, South Korea and Canada while the match with Japan and New Zealand was tied by one goal each.
On the other hand, in a press conference yesterday, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that the final of the Azlan Shah Cup will be aired live all over Pakistan.
It is pertinent to note that the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament, which will continue from May 4 to 11, is attended by the host teams of Malaysia, Pakistan, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea.
Pakistan is unbeaten in this tournament and has reached the finals. Earlier in the 29th Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament, Pakistan won the bronze medal.
