As third Covid-19 wave continues, Pakistan reports 1,118 cases and 77 deaths
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,118 cases of coronavirus were reported while 77 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,453.
The NCOC stated that the positivity rate stands at 2.54%.
The total number of cases has reached 936,131.
As many as 869,691 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,024 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 343,031 in the province with 10,397 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 325,110 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,164.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 134,928 in the province with 4,170 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 25,961 confirmed cases while 291 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,566 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 558. On the other hand, there are 5,664 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 81,871 cases in the capital city while 766 people have lost their lives.
