PML-N general council meeting today

Lahore: The meeting of the Central General Council of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will be held today (Tuesday) in which the new president of the party will be elected.
According to the details, 11 nomination papers have been received to appoint former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the party president. The nomination papers for the election of the new president of the Muslim League (N) have been submitted by the top officials of the four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The nomination papers will be submitted today between 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Party Secretariat Model Town. The five-member Election Commission of the party is headed by Rana Sanaullah, other members include Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ishrat Ashraf, Jamal Shah Kakar and Khyeldas Kohistani.
Scrutiny of nomination papers submitted for the election of PML-N President will take place between 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The Central General Council of the party will elect the new President at 4:00pm.
Yesterday, President of PML-N Punjab and former federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah said in a press conference that the central general council of the party will elect the new party president today. Any respected member of the party who wants to submit the documents should do so.
Sanaullah has further said that without Nawaz Sharif, the core decisions of the party were neither made before nor will be made in the future. Nawaz Sharif is not angry with anyone, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi can submit papers for party presidency, his eligibility will be decided in scrutiny.
