ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Ahmad Shahzad calls for accountability in Pakistan cricket team
Shahzad emphasizes the importance of holding players accountable during this significant cricket event in his YouTube Vlog

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani cricketer Ahmad Shahzad has raised concerns about the performance of Babar XI, saying that the team lacks the capability to achieve results in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. In a recent vlog shared on his YouTube channel, Shahzad emphasized the importance of holding players accountable during this significant cricket event.
As many cricketers have turned to YouTube to engage with fans, Ahmad Shahzad has emerged as a prominent figure, offering insights and behind-the-scenes content on the video streaming platform.
Shahzad criticized the repetitive batting order, suggesting that it is not sustainable in the long term. He also questioned the effectiveness of the current middle-order players, highlighting their pivotal role between the top and lower order.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) approach, Shahzad pointed out lackluster performances in recent series against New Zealand, Ireland, and others. He criticized both the management and key players for their underwhelming contributions.
Shahzad went on to criticize the selection process, arguing that merit is often overlooked, resulting in erratic performances. He specifically targeted Azhar Mehmood and Wahab Riaz for their handling of Usama Mir and other players, labeling their approach as unrealistic and detrimental to the team's progress.
Moreover, Shahzad expressed frustration over agents promoting players based on personal interests rather than merit. He concluded the vlog by stressing the need for accountability within the current cricket setup, urging for positive changes to enhance the team's performance.
