Weekly pickups: Stefanie Dolson offers frontcourt boost

We are almost a month into the WNBA season, and most of the teams have played around 10 games. This roughly represents the quarter mark of the season and the players have established both themselves and their levels of expected production. Still, there are always opportunities that come along where players get more minutes or a new role and take advantage.

That's where we come in. Let's take a look at five players outproducing expectations of late who could be beneficial to your fantasy hoops squads in either the short or long term.

Stefanie Dolson, Washington Mystics (30.2% rostered in ESPN leagues): Dolson has been the starting center for the Mystics all season, earning the spot after Elena Delle Donne retired in the offseason. She has been a solid contributor, with her 3-point range adding to her whole skill set. Dolson has set single-game highs for points (19), rebounds (7), 3-pointers (5), assists (5) and blocked shots (2) within the past week and is averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.0 3s, 1.0 blocks and 0.5 steals over 24.8 minutes during that four-game span.

Chennedy Carter, Chicago Sky (29.6%): Carter is in this space for the second straight week as a result of her consistent scoring punch off the bench for the Sky. Carter had a down game in her last outing, but had scored in double figures in eight straight games before that, posting 15.1 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 2.5 APG and 0.9 SPG over only 20.9 MPG.

Tiffany Hayes, Las Vegas Aces (10.8%): Hayes called it a career this offseason after starting all 40 games last season for the Connecticut Sun, but recently came out of retirement to join the Aces. The Aces are still without starting point guard Chelsea Gray (leg), and Hayes has stepped in to play a key role off the bench. In three games with the Aces, Hayes has posted 11.0 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 3.3 APG, 1.0 3PG and 1.0 SPG over 23.7 MPG. She had her best game Sunday, dropping 17 points in 28 minutes against the Sparks.

Tyasha Harris, Connecticut Sun (25.4%): Harris has been in the starting backcourt all season and has settled in as an important offense generator on the team. Harris has scored double digits in three straight games, a span during which she has posted 12.7 PPG, 3.7 APG, 2.7 RPG, 2.0 3P and 1.3 SPG over 34.7 MPG.

Myisha Hines-Allen, Washington Mystics (9.7%): Hines-Allen comes off the bench for the Mystics, but has stepped up her game within that role over the past several games as Shakira Austin (hip) deals with injury. Through her past five outings, Hines-Allen has posted 10.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.0 SPG and 0.8 3PG over 19.0 MPG. She has scored double-digit points in four of those games, and is coming off her best performance of the season against the Liberty on Sunday, with 20 points, 8 boards, 7 assists, 2 3-pointers and 2 steals in 25 minutes.
