Journalist Imran Riaz arrested from Lahore Airport

Lahore: The YouTuber, anchor and journalist Imran Riaz Khan was arrested from Lahore Airport again.

Imran Riaz’s lawyer Advocate Azhar Siddique confirmed that he was arrested at the airport while wearing Ihram.

He said that the unknown persons who were accompanied by the police, arrested him.

Azhar Siddique Advocate stated that there was a scuffle at the airport, however, Imran Riaz is on bail in all cases.

On the other hand, it is said on Imran Riaz Khan's X account that he was arrested at the airport by uniformed and non-uniformed people despite the court orders. Imran Khan was arrested by pushing and rudely. He loudly raised the slogan ‘Labaik Allah’. He was seated in a black double cabin vehicle.

In the same post, his video was also shared in which Imran Riaz said: “I want to go for Hajj, not to leave this country, everyone knows that I will never leave this country, I want to live in this country but I also want to be alive and free”.

He stated that they repeatedly arrested him and putting behind the bars, sometimes make him disappear and sometimes file cases. ‘I have spent the last two months in great pain. I wanted to go for Hajj in 2022, but got arrested. Then I tried in 2023 and now this year again I want to go to perform Hajj’.

Imran Riaz added that in the last two months, he visited various offices, consulted all of the systems and told everyone that he wanted to go for Hajj, he has no other intention.

He further said that this is the last flight of Hajj, I have been informed that a heavy contingent of police and rangers are stationed at the airport, and they can arrest me, everyone is telling me not to go there.

Imran Riaz also stated he was going to the airport with the intention of Hajj and will come back because he has to appear in the court on July 8.

“I have bought five times Hajj tickets which are non-refundable. My family is also waiting for me at the airport,” added Khan.

He said that you will see this video when he will not be let go, or will be arrested, he knows who is stopping him.
