Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Friday ordered the administration and Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officials to reach the field due to heavy rain.
Chief Minister Maryam directed immediate measures for drainage in all cities including Lahore and that the staff and officers should remain in the field until the water drainage is completed.
She also ordered Rescue 1122 and other agencies to prepare in advance in case of emergency.
Maryam Nawaz said that there should be uninterrupted work for drainage in the main roads and low-lying areas. The situation caused by continuous rain in various cities requires emergency measures. After the rain, water should not be visible in the roads, markets and streets.
Chief Minister Punjab directed the traffic police to clear the roads and that there should not be traffic jams anywhere.
