PTI Lahore Secretary General Hafiz Zeeshan says Sultan, who secured his position in the National Assembly by winning the elections from NA-110 in Jhang, was allegedly taken from his home on Sarwar Road in Lahore
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ameer Sultan was reportedly “abducted” by unknown individuals in Lahore, a senior party leader said on Sunday.
“Unknown men reached his home in two vehicles and abducted him last night,” said Hafiz Zeeshan while confirming his abduction.
He expressed concerns about the safety and security of the PTI leaders after the apex court’s verdict on the reserved seats.
Sultan, who secured his position in the National Assembly by winning the elections from NA-110 in Jhang, was allegedly taken from his home on Sarwar Road in Lahore, claimed PTI Lahore Secretary General Hafiz Zeeshan.
The Supreme Court has ruled that PTI is eligible for reserved seats, which would make it the largest party in the National Assembly once those seats are allocated.
In response to the incident, SSP Cantt Awais Shafiq said that the police had neither arrested the PTI MNA nor received any complaints about his alleged abduction.
When asked why no complaint had been filed yet, Zeeshan mentioned that the party was in the process of drafting the complaint and would submit it to the police station on Monday.
