Updating the media about the decisions taken by the cabinet, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said a mechanism will be developed to safeguard the timely availability of funds for the development projects while a third-party assessment of the projects will be carried out to ensure transparency.

Fawad Chaudhary told that the annual PSDP for the next fiscal year is set atRs900 billion and mega projects for Sindh will be supported from it. The information minister said that the final decision to open cinemas will be taken by the National Command and Operator Center (NCOC) while a proposal to reopen the cinemas from June 30 is under consideration.

While telling about the cabinet’s latest decisions, he said that the cabinet sanctioned the implementation of Stormwater drains projects under the Karachi transformation programme.

The Cabinet has also approved the National Digital Cable Policy by which the quality will be improved and access to more television channels will be available.

“We will also give rights to the cable operators to purchase content,” he added.

On the occasion, the Information Minister also implored Supreme Court that cases of Shahbaz Sharif are heard on daily basis.
