New Zealand's Kane Williamson has maintained his first position in batsmen


Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Wednesday released a new ranking of Test-playing players.
According to ICC's new ranking, New Zealand's Kane Williamson has maintained his first position in batsmen, while England's Joe Root is second and England's Harry Brook has moved up four places to third.
Pakistan's Babar Azam has slipped one place to fourth place while Daryl Mitchell, Steve Smith and Rohit Sharma have also slipped one place each, with the three batsmen moving to fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
There is no change in the top 10 rankings of Test bowlers, with India's Ravichandran Ashwin remaining at number one while England's Chris Woakes has moved up four places to number 20.
