FIA investigation officer requested further physical remand of Rauf and other accused

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad Thursday approved the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Rauf Hassan for another three days.
Rauf Hassan and the other accused were produced before the court after completion of a two-day physical remand.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) investigation officer requested further physical remand of Rauf and the other accused.
The FIA prosecutor told the court that the social media accounts of the accused have not yet been recovered. Email accounts are yet to be logged. People are running WhatsApp groups for money and accused from abroad are also involved.
The investigating officer said that fake accounts created on social media were found on the accused's mobile phone. Rauf Hassan heads and instructs the social media team.
“There is a campaign against the judiciary and administration. We have only one social media technical expert, more time is needed to check social media accounts,” FIA prosecutor said.
The District and Sessions Court Islamabad granted the request of the FIA investigation officer and extended the physical remand of nine co-accused including Rauf for another three days.
It is pertinent to note that the police detained Rauf Hassan from PTI's Islamabad Secretariat four days ago.
