Khan appeals against CJP Qazi in Judges Committee
He requested that Chief Justice should not hear any case related to his family and PTI
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan Thursday filed an application against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa in the Judges Committee.
The former Prime Minister requested in the petition that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa should not hear any case related to his family and PTI. The three-member judges committee should not include the Chief Justice in the benches of PTI and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) cases.
The position adopted in the application was that in 2019, following the advice of legal experts, it was recommended to send a presidential reference against Qazi Faez. ‘My constitutional responsibility was considered a personal attack by the wife of the Honorable Chief Justice. Based on false impression, Serena Isa spread venom against me in public.
In the filed petition, it was stated that Qazi Faez Isa agreed with his wife's actions. The petitioner thought that after assuming the office of Chief Justice, Qazi Faez would forget the past, however, it is clear from his conduct that nothing like that happened.
The petition further adopted the position that CJP Qazi's presence on the bench is not expected to provide justice according to the constitution and law.
