JI, PTI protest: Pindi-Islamabad route partially blocked, Metro service suspended
At Faizabad, route to Rawalpindi has been blocked with containers
Islamabad: Responding to the protest call of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, the red zone area and the roads coming from Rawalpindi to the capital were partially closed by placing containers.
At Faizabad, the route to Rawalpindi has been blocked with containers. The containers have also been delivered to Chandni Chowk and Sixth Road on Murree Road.
The spokesperson of Jamat-e-Islami said that there will be a sit-in against heavy electricity bills and inflation and the caravans are moving towards Islamabad.
Amir Jamat Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch are present in Islamabad. Two employees were detained in the raid at Liaquat Baloch's house.
JI has claimed that several workers have been detained from Lahore, Gujarat, Vehari, Sargodha, Hafizabad, and Faisalabad.
On the other hand, PTI has announced a protest for the release of founder PTI Imran Khan and arrested workers and inflation.
Apart from this, the administration informed that in view of the protest, Metro Bus service has been suspended in Islamabad from IJP to Pak Secretariat.
While, the Metro Bus service has been restored in Rawalpindi and is running from Faizabad to Sadar, told administration.
