Lahore: Declaring corruption as the major obstacle in the way to development and prosperity, NAB Chairman Justice Javed Iqbal maintained that the anti-graft body truly believes in zero corruption and hundred per cent development as its goal.

In a high-level briefing in NAB Lahore Bureau, it was stressed to conclude mega corruption scandals by developing sound shreds of the evidence so the looted public money may be recovered from corrupt elements without any delay.
NAB (National Accountability Bureau) Lahore's performance has witnessed a 713 per cent annual increase during four years' tenure of current leadership while comparing with the span of earlier 17 years while it has, directly and indirectly, recovered Rs74 billion during said 4 years' tenure which is being considered as a remarkable achievement.
Director General (DG) NAB Lahore along with Combined Investigation Teams (CITs) briefed NAB Chairman about the developments in Reference against Eden Housing Projects' administration, Chaudhary Sugar Mills Case, Inquiry against MNA Khusro Bakhtiar and MPA Hashim Jawan Bakht, Inquiry against Ex-DCO Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal & Ex-DG LDA Ahad Khan Cheema, Inquiry against MNA Mian laved Latif, Inquiry against Lasani Chicks & Oil Companies and Inquiry against DIG Akbar Nasir & Addl IG Malik Ali Amir.
He said the cases be prepared based on concrete pieces of evidence supported with witnesses' statements, as per law.
For obtaining convictions in corruption cases and recovering looted money involved in corruption scandals the witness list should be precise but based on effective ones, he said.
He further stated that Bureau also investigated those in corruption scandals who were once unapproachable while NAB has dreamed of ‘Corruption Free Pakistan’ as its destination and anyone would suffer for whatever he did.
He also termed NAB as the Prime National graft-busting Organization and said “Our Officers are discharging their duties with a commitment to eradicate corruption from Count.”
NAB has no affiliation with any political party, group or individual except for the State of Pakistan while the organisation would continue to work while remaining under lawful ambit without caring for any kind of pressure, threat, pressings and baseless allegations.
